Look for I-CAR and OEM certification
I-CAR Gold Class is the international standard for collision-repair training. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certification — like Toyota, Mazda or BMW approved — means the shop uses factory procedures and parts.
Ask about written lifetime warranty
Reputable NZ panel beaters offer a lifetime warranty on paint and workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle. Get it in writing before signing the repair authority.
Confirm they use water-based paint
Modern, low-VOC waterborne paint systems (Sikkens, Glasurit, Cromax) match factory finishes better than solvent-based paint and meet Worksafe NZ standards.
